Why does keeping your operating system up to date matter?
The operating system is the computer's main program: it starts the machine, manages files and lets every other application run. If it is badly installed or out of date, the computer runs slowly, errors appear and, above all, it is exposed to viruses and attacks.
Every system has an end-of-support date. From that day on the manufacturer stops releasing security patches, even if the computer still starts up normally. That is why it is important to plan the upgrade or switch in good time, without losing data or programs.
We install Windows, Windows Server, macOS, Linux and Raspberry Pi OS on both business and home computers. If you have several computers in the office, we can also give them all the same configuration so they are easier to maintain and to work with every day.
An example you probably know
In May 2017, the WannaCry virus locked more than 200,000 computers worldwide, including machines at Telefónica and British hospitals. It exploited a Windows flaw that Microsoft had fixed two months earlier: the affected computers simply weren't up to date. Something similar is happening today with Windows 10, which stopped receiving support on 14 October 2025 yet is still used on many computers.
